Dr. Putt graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1992.
After 20 years of experience, it was Dr. Andrea Putt’s desire to open her own veterinary hospital.
Dr. Putt also earned here certification as a CCRT ( Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist) from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2022.
Honors and Associations
Dr. Putt was a member of the PHI Zeta Veterinary Honor Society during her time at MSU.
Currently, she is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Modern and High Tech Veterinary Care
Dr. Putt’s goal is to provide the most modern and high tech veterinary care, delivered with compassion and a “small town” touch. Dr. Putt understands the desire of her clients to have various treatment choices available to care for their pets. She has a special interest in difficult cases and second opinions.
Dr. Putt strongly believes that thorough physical exams are vital to a pet’s well-being and is the basis for the “preventative care” philosophy at Commerce Village Veterinary Hospital. Preventative medicine for dogs, cats and other small animals and pocket pets is always the best approach for the highest quality of life. She enjoys caring for pets during all stages of their lives.
Incredible Compassion and a “Small Town” Touch
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Putt is the proud momma of two daughters. One daughter is currently enrolled as a veterinary student at the University of Illinois pursuing a future career as a veterinarian. Her oldest daughter is a business entrepreneur , where she is the studio director of Company K Dance in Brighton , Michigan. Currently there are 3 Maine Coon & 2 mixed breed cats, 2 French Bulldogs, and 1 horse in their family. Outside of the veterinary hospital, Dr. Putt may be seen spending time with her family, at a dance competition supporting Company K Dance, in her perennial garden, snorkeling or on a sunny beach somewhere.

Dr. Putt loves being a veterinarian because of the personal relationships she has formed with her clients, their families, and their furry family members! Through her many years of practice in the Oakland County area, she has shared with her clients all the gamut of emotions, the happiness and the sorrow, that are part of loving pets.
