Dr. Tracy Adams graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1997. She always knew she wanted to be a small animal veterinarian, but solidified that decision after working full-time as a veterinary assistant and technician for 2 years before applying to veterinary schools. In 2004, Dr. Adams graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, she was an active member of several clubs and was president of the Student Chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Dr. Adams spent 12 years working at a small animal practice in Farmington, MI after graduating in 2004. She later accepted a position in the downriver area in 2017, where she practiced for almost 3 years in Allen Park, MI. She wanted to find an exceptional veterinary hospital closer to her home in a wonderful community, and decided to join Commerce Village Veterinary Hospital in November 2019. Her special professional interests include canine and feline internal medicine cases, dermatology, and senior pet care. She enjoys building relationships with clients and bonding with the patients.
Dr. Adams is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (SEMVMA). She served on council for SEMVMA 2008 through 2016, was President of SEMVMA in 2011, and the newsletter editor for most of her tenure. Dr. Adams attends continuing education seminars locally, as well as national veterinary conferences, and also enjoys online continuing education webinars to stay current on relevant topics in small animal veterinary medicine.
In her spare time outside of caring for her patients, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, traveling, cooking, and exercise. She also enjoys being a guest presenter at grade schools, where she educates students about the veterinary field. She is the proud mother of two teenage boys (Tyler and Camden) and two furry felines (Arnie and Eazy) at home. Dr. Adams is engaged to her fiancé of 4 years, and she and Alex plan to get married in 2021.
