Miscellaneous

Just a couple of things……

When checking in orders, please make sure you are putting the expiration dates on the invoices.

We will now be utilizing “room 5”.  Please try to communicate that there is a patient in room5.  There is a door hanger along with our heart and kennel cough hanger to put on the door knob of the door going back to inpatient that says “appointment in progress” so everyone knows there is an appointment waiting in there.  There is also a brown box on the shelf by the food that says room 5.  You can put the chart in the box and stick the doctors card in the chart so the doctor knows that appointment is for her.

Please give all lab specimens that you are sending out regular mail to Dr. Putt.  She will take it to the post office to send out. (Not enough stamps have been going on packages and they are getting sent back).

I am ordering microtainer yellow top serum separator tubes from antech.  If you have a small blood sample you can put it in the yellow top tube and a microtainer lavender top tube to send out and still be able to get heartworm test, ghp, t4, total body function, etc.  Green top tubes can only be used for ghp’s and they need to know to run the cbc first.

Technicians: on days you are working outpatient, you need to be ready to work again at 2pm sharp.  You will need to manage your time to make sure you have time to eat and be ready to start appointments again and ready to work at 2.  (Obviously if there is an emergency, etc. that is an exception).  On surgical days, you need to be ready to work in the lab at 4pm.  Jenny: on Thursdays you need to be ready to work with Dr. Rutsey at 4pm in the lab. Sarah: on Mondays, when it’s your day to work inpatient, you need to be in the lab at 4pm to work with Dr. Putt.  Everyone else needs to be floating back and forth, getting things done in inpatient and being able to help/do discharges in outpatient.

A $100 credit will be given to those people who joined us in the Memorial Day Parade this year on your account.  Yay!!

We will be fine tuning/changing/improving just a few things  that we learned about from our AAHA inspection.  Stay tuned for more info on that…….

Thank you to everyone!!!!  All of you are amazing!!!  Keep up the hard work.  It is appreciated!!

AAHA Inspection

We will be having our AAHA inspection on May 26th.  We need everyone to really tackle CE.  Please start working on getting at least a few hours of CE out of the way.  Please let me know if you have any questions or issues with that.  If it would help with being able to get the CE done, you can come in on your day off or do it at home and record your time spent so you can be paid.  Just make sure to let me know and be sure to give me your CE documentation so we can keep track.  I will be working like mad the next month to get everything in order for our inspection.  I may need you to pick up some odd and end jobs to help get us to where we need to be. We need to make sure that there are osha labels on every bottle and that everything is splotless!!

There is a list of backorders in the lab.

I ordered the hoodies so they should be here soon!

Please be sure to only offer and accept free preventative exams to NEW clients.  It is only available to new clients and ONE time!

Receptionists-PLEASE be sure to fill out all paperwork thoroughly.  Especially surgical/dental paperwork.

I can’t believe it’s that time of year! Please put in for any time off you need for the summer asap.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  Thank you!

Some Cool Changes!

Hello,

You are able to log in and view the Team Portal from your phone!  Yay! Just as you would on the computer.  I hope this will be easier for everyone.

We have another new printer in reception that hopefully will be better all around.  It is a printer (in color), copier, scanner.  Print all things that need color to that printer.  It is the default printer for the reception computers and dental table computer.

We will now scan all records that clients bring in and drivers licenses instead of copying them.  We are going green!  The directions on how to do this is posted in reception.  We will always have the capability of printing what we scan if needed. Thank Laurel for this FABULOUS idea!

Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

Memorial Day Parade

It’s that time of year again to sign up for the Walled Lake Memorial Day Parade.  We would like to know if anyone would be interested in participating this year.  Do not feel pressured!  We totally understand if you have plans for Memorial Day.  Please let me know asap if you would be interested.  Thanks so much!

We now have Fluoxetine 10mg tablets in stock being sold by the 30ct bottle.

Also, surgical teams……please be sure to communicate.  The technicians who were back in surgery are responsible for discharges.  Please be sure to communicate with your fellow surgical technicians before you leave about any patient that will be going home that evening and go over all patient care and discharge info with the technician who is working late……I work late every Monday and Thursday so don’t hesitate to go over things with me or Sarah who works late on Mondays or Jenny who works late on Thursdays.  Surgery days are hectic so we need to stay organized and communicate well.  Discharging patients can be very difficult if we don’t have all the info we need. I hope this will lessen the frustration in the evenings.

Everyone has been doing an outstanding job!!  Thank you so much for all your hard work!

3/19

Hi everyone,

You can now access the team portal on your phone.  The mobile website is now just a smaller version of our website.  Scroll down and you will see Team Portal, click on that and follow the usual steps.

Our new server is up and running.  Please let me know if you run into any issues, error messages, etc.

The server computer back by the dental table is now printing everything to the printer in reception and labels are still going to the lab.

I hope you all received my e-mail for Vetfolio, the online CE course.  Please let me know if you did not.  All CE hours for AAHA can be used from there.  Obviously, if you see a course or seminar that you are interested in going to then please let me know.  We will still be sending a couple people to a conference hopefully each year but this will also help you with getting great info and CE hours.

Please continue to reply to each Team Portal Memo by replying at least with your initials so I know you have seen and read the memo. Thanks!

Safety

Hey everyone,

We are enforcing a new policy.  The heavy door between the runs and the stairs needs to stay closed at all times.  We also need to put a slip leash on every pet we are walking, restraining, etc.  Keep focused on the pet at all times to make sure you have full control.  Thank you!
