Just a couple of things…..

1. When parking next door at the house, please park in unison.  First car parks at the end, then the next person parks next to that car, then the next person parks next to that car, etc.
2. NO MORE PEANUT BUTTER OR LEAN TREATS SMASHED INTO THE MAT OR TABLES!!!
3. I left a stack of the personality profiles in the lab.  Please grab one!
4. We have decided that I am not going to put in the expiration dates for any of our products.  So when checking in an order, you do not have to put down the expiration date, EXCEPT IF IT’S A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE THEN I DO NEED THE EXPIRATION DATE AS WELL AS THE NDC NUMBER!!!!  So you will need to type in the expiration date for all medications that you put up.  (You’re grabbing the bottle any way as a double check system).
5. These are the dates that I am looking for volunteers to take the day off.  Please keep in mind that we will still need ample staff to open and close so I may have to ask those of you who are working to change your shift from either 9-7 or 8-6.

March 4th: 1 receptionist, 2 techs

March 5th: 2 receptionists

March 25th: 1 receptionist, 2 techs

March 27th: 1 technician

Please make sure to go through the check list at the end of each day.  The space heater was left on overnight and the window in room 2 was left open overnight too.  Obviously a very big hazard.  Please be sure to double check the list and unplug the space heaters every night.  Also make sure all the window are closed before you leave.  Thank you

We are going to have a team meeting on 2/14 at 12:30. We are going to do some team building!  I will give each of you a Pawsonality Assessment.  Please answer the questions as honestly as you can and bring that to the meeting with you so we can go through all of our assessments.  This gives us a better understanding of each other and helps us to communicate and understand each other better!  I think we do a great job already but this is a fun way to get to know each other better! We need to go over double checking medications again.  We really want to get to the point of zero mistakes.  Unfortunately, we have had two mistakes made this past week.  I know we are better than that so please take this seriously, slow down and take the time to check your team mate.

Please check the following:

1. Patient’s Name
2. Medication name and strength is correct on the label
3. Medication name and strength is correct in the medication vial
4. Directions on how to give the medication is correct
5. Quantity is correct on the label
6. Expiration date is correct (If anybody is looking for a job-see me!!)(We need to go through inventory and put in the correct expiration dates!)
7. Doctor is correct
8. Put the label on the medication vial before you have someone double check it!

Please take this very seriously!  We need to make sure that our clients and patients are being well taken care of!  We have been very fortunate that nothing life threatening has happened.

I hope everyone is staying warm!  Thank you so much to everyone on this amazing team!  You all came together last week and worked hard!  I really appreciate it so much!  You all are fabulous!

1. Please make sure to try to get pre-surgical blood work on patients at their last vaccine appointment.  It’s more difficult to get blood work on patients the day of surgery.  And they get more bang for their buck if we send it out to the lab:):)
2. We have increased prices across the board.  Please watch your treatment plans carefully for patients who are coming in for surgery or dentals.  We honor treatment plans for 60 days.  So if the treatment plan is less than 60 days old, they need to be charged what they were quoted for.  If the treatment plan is older than 60 days then they need to be charged the new price.  Clear as mud!? Let me know if you  have any questions.
3. We learned a few things at VMX. We will have a meeting soon to go over new things we learned!!

Kate is a lvt and has joined our team this past week!  Please help her feel welcome and help her with training, questions, etc.  She will be working in reception and as a technician.  You can reach out to her if you’re looking to give up some hours or needing to take a day off.  Welcome Kate!

Everything is moving along next door!  It’s very exciting!  Hopefully things will be up and running in the next 4-6 weeks.

Please make sure you are punching in and out.  I’m happy to fix your hours but it is getting excessive which leads to mistakes.  I want to make sure your hours are correct for payroll!

When you submit a time off request, please follow up with me as a double check system.  Please don’t assume that if you submitted the time off request that it is approved and a done deal.  A lot of the time off requests have been going to my spam folder for some crazy reason.  I have tried to fix it but I still don’t trust it 100% and I don’t want to miss any time off requests so please just verbally double check with me.  Thanks!

This is just a friendly reminder that every employee needs to pay off any balance that is on your account by the end of the week please!

The January schedule is kind of crazy!!  We have three doctors out of town all during miscellaneous times through the month of January.  I’m tying up some loose ends with the schedule but I think we are good!  I just need 1 technician to volunteer to take 1/10 off.  Any takers?? Please let me know.

There may be times where we’re a little heavy on staff and there may be times where we are a little light.  Please stay busy and find things to do if needed and please step it up if needed.  If you see anything a little wonky with the schedule in January please let me know!!  I had to do some creative things so I may have over looked a shift.  It’s like a fine art!::)

There is info on the cork board in the lab on FSA for full time employees.  Please let me know if you’d like further information on that, if you have any questions, or if you would like to sign up.  You need to enroll by December 26th.  If you don’t sign up by then it will result in NO participation for 2019.

We have ordered the fleece jackets and we hope they will be here within 2 weeks.

We are having issues with chewy.com.  We are being inundated with phone calls and faxes from them for each prescription.  This is the plan for chewy now:

If anyone from chewy calls us we let them know that we are not communicating with them.  We will talk to our clients directly and handle the prescriptions with the client.

We will pull the chart and put the fax from chewy in the chart.  Call the owner and let them know that we are no longer handling business with chewy directly.  If the client would like to get their product from chewy then we will write a prescription and the client can pick up the written prescription and get it to chewy themselves.

Some of our special orders for Dr. Groesbeck’s patients are getting misplaced so we are coming up with a plan!

There is a little cubby area at the bottom of the filing cabinet that says Special orders for Dr. Groesbeck.  Please put all chinese herbals/supplements and rx vitamins/supplements in that area.  She and I will take care of those prescriptions.  Make sure to put the chart in my box if there is a special order so I can get that placed.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!
