I have ordered fecal occult blood tests. They should be here sometime next week. There is a code in the computer for those. There is also a code for clay paws. One clay paw is complimentary but anything more needs to be charged for. So if a client wants 4 clay paws they need to be charged for 3.

We are changing our fluid rates for surgery and dental patients. Obviously this does not include special cases like cardiac patients. The new initial fluid rate for dogs is 5ml/kg/hr and for cats 3ml/kg/hr for the first hour. Also make sure that all patients that are being checked into the hospitals are up to date on fecals.

Make sure you transfer treatment plans on anything that is dated out 60 days to honor the old pricing. Please let me know if you have any questions. Phew….great job yesterday! We were busy and everyone did a fantastic job!
We need to be charging a minimum of $100 for soft tissue surgery. If it is an add on to a dental then $50 is ok as long as you are charging additional anesthesia.
We are going to try to have a tech/staff meeting tomorrow during down time just to regroup and touch base on a few things. Bring your ideas, concerns, questions.

Please remember to clock out for lunch if you are going to be gone for more than a couple minutes. If you are going to go pick up lunch, run errands, etc. clock out while you are gone then you can clock back in when you are back.
Technicians/Assistants: Please remember to go through the stack of charts in the lab each day. Make sure we have lab results back that should be back, progress calls, etc.
Also make sure you are checking MSU supplies whenever sending out a test. Add any supplies that are needed to your MSU form.

A couple things…….
First thing: Please limit cell phone usage during the day. Please use your cell phone at lunch only.
Second: Please try to schedule all appointments. We had quite a few people come in Saturday that were told they could just stop in. We have been very busy, so please tell clients that it will be best for them and their pet if they make an appointment.
Third: Everyone has been doing a great job! Please keep up the great work:)
Please view the December schedule. There have been some changes due to not having a third doctor. Everyone has lost 20 hours for the whole month of December. Please take a good look at the schedule to see what changes affect you and let me know asap if there are any issues, concerns, questions. Thank you so much for being flexible!!!
